Comparing the M1 Mac Mini to the MacBook Pro made me realize, they’re literally the same computer in a different format. Just get the MacBook and avoid the struggle. So yeah… I regret not buying the MacBook Pro instead, here’s why:
Bluetooth issues
For whatever reason my Magic Mouse and the Keyboard randomly disconnected throughout the day. I then needed to go and get a wired mouse to restart bluetooth. Same goes with Headphones, the AirPods connection just randomly cut off and it made me really mad.
Green-Screen-Glitch
Sometimes the whole monitor screen would turn green and the Mac Mini crashed. I have no clue why but it just did.
No portability
Since Apple introduced the M1 Processors they really raised the bar. The MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini share the exact same chip and performance now. Why should you give away your freedom of picking up your computer to work on the couch?? Plus the keyboard and trackpad is already included in the MacBook and if you need a bigger screen you can plug-in an external monitor at all times.
Bottom line
The past few months have been hell. Since i switched from the Mac Mini to the MacBook Pro my life was so much easier. I understand that the Mac Mini has a different target group and consumers have reasons to pick one over the other but I certainly did not have a great experience.
